On 7 April, 2018, a group of 57 members of the Arras Compostelle Francigena Association will walk the Via Francigena from Canterbury to Rome. To foster connections with our French counterparts and to heighten their experience on our 20 miles of the route, The Confraternity of Pilgrims to Rome is organising an event for members and their friends and family.
The event will include a Confraternity meal on the evening of Friday 6 April, where CPR members will have an opportunity to meet each other and discuss future plans to walk the Francigena or to reflect on memorable experiences on the route. On 7 April, we will meet the Arras group in the Cathedral Precincts at 7.15 am, and from there, we will we set off for a full day of walking and mingling as we make our way to Dover. Baguettes will be available at The Bell pub in Shepherdswell and tea and coffee will be provided by St. Andrew’s church.
This event also celebrates the new signs that were installed from the Cathedral to Spring Lane in December as a result of a CPR initiative – an important step in improving provision for pilgrims on the VF in the UK.
Members are welcome to sign-up for the dinner and walk in the form below. Please let us know if you are bringing guests.
We very much hope to see many of you in Canterbury for what promises to be a wonderful day of pilgrimage.
