The Fédération Française de la Via Francigena – CPR’s new partner in France
The Confraternity is happy to announce that a partnership agreement was signed in 2019 with the Fédération Française de la Via Francigena (FFVF).
The FFVF is an umbrella group of some 12 local associations in France which promote and support pilgrimage on the Via Francigena.
Each year, with research and data from the associations on the ground, the FFVF publishes an up-to-date A5 booklet “Accommodation and Facilities on the Via Francigena,” covering the whole of the nearly 1000km of the route in France. We are pleased to announce that from March 2020 an English translation will be available for sale from our online shop at a price of £5.00.
So often pilgrims complain that France is a “desert,” and that there is little pilgrim infrastructure. This booklet will put paid to this myth once and for all. There are 55 pages crammed with information on pilgrim accommodation – host families and hostels – as well as B&Bs and hotels and restaurants, shops, campsites, internet, and information points – making it entirely possible to cross France on a pilgrim budget.
The CPR and the FFVF are currently working on organising a joint walk in the Pas-de-Calais for spring 2021.
