We are very excited to bring you news of our forthcoming Zoom ‘conference’. We had two or three last year during the height of the UK lockdown and we received very favourable feedback. It is a good chance to share and receive advice and put a name to a face of people who contribute on our social media.
The early signs are that a lot of people are making plans for a pilgrimage this year so we are especially happy that the format will be a conversation with Rev Sandy Brown, a member of the Confraternity and an Associate Publisher for Caminos and Pilgrimages at Cicerone Press. Sandy is authoring new editions of the Cicerone guide to the VF – following in the venerable footsteps of the late Alison Raju, a founding member of the Confraternity and a prolific author of guidebooks including the earlier Cicerone guides to the VF. Volume Two, Lausanne to Luuca, and Volume Three, Lucca to Rome are available and Volume 1 is due next year. We reviewed volume 3 in the e-newsletter last year.
Sandy is an engaging and popular speaker and he will be interviewed by our own Brian Mooney, past Chair and presently vice-Chair of the Confraternity and himself the author of two books on the VF – available from our shop.
What was especially pleasing last year was the opportunity for members from North America and Australia to join us online and we look forward to meeting as wide a selection of members as possible.
The Zoom will be at 8pm GMT on Sunday 6th March. There will be a chance to meet up in groups after the talk and we look forward to meeting as many as possible.
To join us you need to book a ticket using this link to Eventbrite. There is the option of making a small donation which greatly helps the work of the Confraternity.
We look forward to meeting you
