Ring in advance to book. When I arrived there was no-one at welcome desk as at lunch time but rang bell and a Sister arrived and took me into the guest accomodation. I was in a room with three beds – simple but adequate. Shared shower and toilet – clean but older. Downstairs is a lounge/dining room, with tea available. Grounds are pleasant with garden seats and views over vineyards towards Reims – enjoyed a stroll and rest. I was the only pilgrim staying that evening but there were other guests staying. There are services in chapel – some of which I did attend but no pressure to do so. Dinner was served in a guest dining room – soup, bread, simple main course, stewed fruit & yoghurt and cheese & crackers- plenty of food though plain. Expected to help do guest dishes and reset for next meal. Breakfast was in downstairs lounge with its mini-kitchen and help yourself to tea/coffee, bread & jam . . Stayed for morning prayers as I was only walking 10km into Reims – and the sisters prayed for me by name & other pilgrims. Little in the village- pharmacy was open – the bar had shut but signs in window suggest a new bar/restuarant/shop was due to open later in 2018.
It was 20 euro for dinner B&B in August 2018.
One of my favourite stays on VF !
I stayed at St Thierry following a welcome from Sr Marthe late one evening. I was very tired and after a comfortable sleep, breakfast and morning service asked if I could stay another night as it was so peaceful and calm. Sr Loretta agreed and Sr Crysta made me feel welcome by offering me a helpful task to contribute to community although this was not mandatory. A service accompanied by beautiful music and song ensured a second peaceful night. Wonderful, calm, peaceful company and definitely blessed to have stayed with the sisters. Thank you enormously.
