Via Francigena Virtual Meet and Greet

Whether you are a seasoned walker, or in the early stages of planning, join us for a relaxed 90 minute discussion about the Via Francigena

Join us via Zoom for a relaxed evening in the company of Pilgrims to Rome hosts Eamonn Mullally and Alex Knox.

You’ll meet fellow pilgrims, some of whom will be joining us ‘live’ from the path. It’s a chance to share your experience and knowledge of the Via Francigena, or to seek advice as you plan your own pilgrimage.

This online meet-and-greet will feature presentations from recent and current pilgrims, and give you the chance to chat and ask questions of each other.

We are so fortunate to have members from all over the world as part of the Pilgrims to Rome community, and our Virtual Pilgrimage earlier in the year attracted pilgrims from the USA, New Zealand. Australia, Canada and South Africa.

Whether you are a seasoned walker, or in the early stages of planning, please join us for a relaxed 90 minute discussion about all things Via Francigena.

If you’ve been following the Via Francigena Facebook forum this year, you will recognise some pilgrims who will be joining us.

Efren Gongalez, who walked the full route Canterbury to Rome five years ago, and returned this year to walk from Switzerland to Rome. Due to the wet weather in October in Italy, Efren decided to finish his pilgrimage this year at the Passo della Cisa and will continue next spring. Efren is well known for his gorgeous aerial videos capturing the magic of the Francigena.

Colette Zahaire (aka Col Ette on Facebook) from Canada has generously shared information about her accommodation and hosts throughout her journey to Rome. She will be joining us from the route – we look forward to learning where she ends up!

New Zealander Jennifer Andrewes is a seasoned pilgrim having walked the Voie du Puy, the Voie de Vezelay and this year the 2,400km Via Francigena. She finishes in Rome in late October in the company of the 100 subscribers on her virtual pilgrimage from Canterbury. A published author, she has a book on her French pilgrimages written, with another on the Francigena coming. Fluent in French and with basic Italian, Jennifer is always on the hunt for the ultimate croissant (but a good gelato is acceptable).
